Meet our presenter:
Tahseen Mozaffar, MD, FAAN
University of California, Irvine
Dr. Mozaffar is Professor of Neurology and Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the University of California, Irvine, where he previously served as Founding Director of the Division of Neuromuscular Disorders. He is Associate Director of UCI's Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) program and leads several NIH-funded research initiatives, including INSPIRE-IBM, a multicenter natural history study in sporadic inclusion body myositis.
After earning his medical degree from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan, Dr. Mozaffar completed neurology and neuromuscular training at Washington University in St. Louis. Since joining UC Irvine in 2000, he has built an internationally recognized clinical and research program focused on neuromuscular disorders.
A leader in clinical and translational research, Dr. Mozaffar serves as principal investigator on numerous clinical trials in myasthenia gravis, immune myopathies, and rare neuromuscular diseases. He has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed publications and is a sought-after advisor on clinical trial design and therapeutic development. He also directs the annual UC Irvine Neuromuscular Colloquium and founded the Neuromuscular Pathology Colloquium.
