Meet Our Presenter:

  • Brenda Lampon, MA, PhD Candidate
  • Senior Advocate and Engagement Manager for older adults, mental health and disabilities
  • Miami Dade County Office of the Mayor

Brenda Lampon is an experienced human services professional with over 24 years serving the community. Currently, she is serving as the Senior Advocate and Engagement Manager for older adults, mental health and disabilities in the Miami Dade County Office of the Mayor, Daniella Levine Cava.

Since 2001, she has been dedicated to advocating and serving the South Florida community by creating opportunities for engagement, partnership, inclusivity, active participation, and ensuring that everyone’s voice is heard and respected in decision-making processes. Through the years she has emphasized her advocacy work for older adults and individuals with visible and invisible disabilities to highlight their strengths while addressing their needs and challenges to find support and assistance.

Brenda holds a BA in Psychology, a MS in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and is a PhD candidate in Human Services. Her strengths are in the areas of building relationships between organizations, individuals, and community members to work collaboratively toward their common goals, assertiveness in managing multiple and complex projects, conflict resolution, advocacy for vulnerable populations, and development of partnerships.

Her professional endeavor was pursued with a deep passion to ensuring communities thrive through collective action, advocacy for change, and empowerment of their members. She uses her professional expertise to empower others to be the best they can be!
