Welcome to MDA’s Distinguished Events Training Page for Auction Volunteers! Here you will find training materials and resources that will help you in your volunteer role.
Auction Volunteer Role Description:
Volunteers are essential to MDA’s mission of transforming the lives of people living with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related neuromuscular diseases. We are seeking volunteers to assist with MDA’s Distinguished Events: Golf Outings and Galas. At this time the volunteer work will be done virtually but as the year progresses, there may also be opportunities for in person volunteering. As a volunteer in this role, you will assist with calling companies such as airlines, hotels, retail locations, regional and national grocers…etc. to request donations to support our Distinguished Events silent and live auctions.
This volunteer opportunity can be done virtually from your home. Responsibilities include attending a brief training, calling, and emailing companies to request donations, tracking commitments, and confirming receipt of items. This opportunity is a weekly commitment of 5 hours/week and 30-40 phone calls and emails on average.

Volunteer Resources: Upon completion of this training, you will be assigned an MDA email address and have access to a Microsoft Teams channel where additional resources can be found. Distinguished Events Volunteer Training Completion Form:
At the Muscular Dystrophy Association, volunteers are at the cornerstone of all we do. We are committed to ensuring our volunteers are successful and have an enjoyable experience while volunteering. As part of this commitment, we provide a comprehensive volunteer training for each of our signature programs. Your completion of this training is critical to your success and provides you with new skills and resources to make you successful.
