Furniture Mart and Unclaimed Freight Team Up with Muscular Dystrophy Association to Send Kids to Summer Camp at No Cost to Families

NEW YORK, NY, March 8, 2022 — Furniture Mart and Unclaimed Freight locations in 18 communities across South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota and will raise funds to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Summer Camp program. A portion of sales from customer purchases from March 1-31, 2022, will go to support MDA's historic Summer Camp program, providing kids ages 8-17 living with muscular dystrophy or related neuromuscular diseases a chance to attend a week-long in-person sleepaway or virtual camp experience at no cost to their families.

The MDA Summer Camp experience offers children living with neuromuscular disease, a chance to learn vital life skills, create life-long friendships, gain independence, and learn to advocate for themselves in a supportive environment with their peers.

"This campaign with MDA comes at the perfect time," said Mark Millage, Director of Community Relations at Furniture Mart. "As we emerge from the pandemic, now more than ever, the summer camp experience helps children return to a sense of normalcy. In partnership with our customers, we want to ensure that every child who wants to attend MDA Summer Camp will do so this year."

This is the first year Furniture Mart and Unclaimed Freight and its customers have partnered with MDA in support of its shared mission to fund research, care, and advocacy for families living with neuromuscular diseases.
