From Sale-A-Thon to Summer Camp: Boucher Auto Group Celebrates Over 40 Years with the Muscular Dystrophy Association
Free, in-person events unite families, clinicians, researchers, and advocates to accelerate progress, advance care, and strengthen connection across the neuromuscular community.
GREENFIELD, Wisconsin, Friday, June 26, 2026 – The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) is celebrating 41 years of partnership with Boucher Auto Group, honoring a relationship that has become a cherished tradition for generations of Wisconsin families living with neuromuscular disease. What began in 1985 with a simple request from local MDA families has grown into a four-decade commitment that has raised more than $1.5 million to support MDA Summer Camp and other programs that help children and young adults and their families thrive.

The partnership started when families connected to MDA approached Gordon Boucher Sr., founder of Boucher Auto Group, seeking support for the local MDA Summer Camp in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Moved by the opportunity to make a difference, Boucher launched the company's annual December Sale-A-Thon. Forty years later, the campaign remains a cornerstone of the company's philanthropic efforts and a lifeline for countless families served by MDA.
"When my father first partnered with MDA in 1985, I don't think anyone could have imagined the impact that decision would have over 40 years later," said Gordie Boucher Jr. of Boucher Auto Group. "We've watched campers grow up, families form lifelong friendships, and a community come together around a shared commitment to inclusion and opportunity. Supporting MDA isn't just something we do – it's part of who we are. We're incredibly proud of this partnership and grateful for the opportunity to help make a difference in the lives of so many Wisconsin families."
For children and young adults living with neuromuscular disease, MDA Summer Camp provides much more than a week away from home. It offers opportunities to build confidence, develop independence, create lifelong friendships, and experience the joy of belonging in a community designed to meet their unique needs.
Over the years, Boucher Auto Group's commitment has extended well beyond fundraising. Led by Gordie Boucher Jr. and Frank Boucher, members of the Boucher team visit camp each year to spend time with campers, participate in activities, and bring gifts for every child attending.
In 2018, Boucher Auto Group donated accessible ramps for camp cabins, helping improve mobility and access for campers and other guests who require accommodations. The company also hosts an annual night out for parents during camp week and an MDA Family Reunion each spring, creating opportunities for families to connect, share experiences, and strengthen community throughout the year.
"For 40 years, Boucher Auto Group has demonstrated what it means to be a true partner to the neuromuscular disease community," said Ruth Ann Dailey, Chief Development Officer at MDA. "Their support goes far beyond fundraising. They have helped create experiences, connections, and opportunities that have enriched the lives of countless children and families. Their generosity and commitment have left a lasting impact on our community, and we are proud to celebrate this remarkable milestone with them."
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to ensuring people living with neuromuscular disease have access to the support, resources, and community they need to live longer, stronger, and on their own terms. Through four decades of service, Boucher Auto Group has helped make that vision a reality for families across Wisconsin.
