38th Annual Golf Classic Raises More than $514,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association

Lake Charles, La. – May 30, 2023 – The CITGO Lake Charles Refinery recently held its 38th annual Golf Classic benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), hosting more than 250 participants at the Lake Charles Country Club to enjoy a day of golf, live and silent auctions, awards and great food. The 2023 event raised more than $514,000 to accelerate research, advance care and empower families living with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and related neuromuscular diseases to live longer, more independent lives.

Since 1985, the CITGO Lake Charles Refinery has raised more than $6.4 million by engaging its vendors and partners in annual fundraising campaigns that support MDA’s mission. MDA’s pipeline of promise includes life empowering treatments that continue to grow, creating ever more hope for the patients and their families who are at the heart of MDA’s mission and vision.
