An overview of best practices to manage respiratory manifestations in patients living with neuromuscular disease (NMD). This webinar provides education for healthcare providers on the benefits of implementing early and ongoing pulmonary function assessments in the course of NMD management, use of non-invasive ventilators and airway clearance devices, considerations for instructing patients on at-home management of respiratory infections, and rehabilitation approaches to improve respiratory function.
- Recognize the benefits of implementing early and ongoing pulmonary function assessments and interventions in the course of Neuromuscular Disease (NMD) management
- Recognize the features of and indications for non-invasive ventilators and understand the use of airway clearance devices in the management of NMD
- Instruct patients and caregivers on how to prevent and treat early stages of respiratory infections at home
- Utilize rehabilitation approaches to preserve or improve respiratory function in NMD
