Dear Friends,

As the Muscular Dystrophy Association celebrates its 75th anniversary, I have spent time reflecting on how far we have come together and what comes next. With deep gratitude and full confidence in the future of this organization, I have made the decision to retire as President and CEO.

This moment feels right. MDA is strong, stable, and delivering on its mission with more urgency and impact than ever. Over the course of my career, including my years as a researcher, board member, and now CEO, I have had the privilege of witnessing the transformative power of this community. I leave knowing MDA’s future is in exceptional hands and with momentum that will carry forward the progress we have made.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve. It has been the honor of a lifetime.

With appreciation,

Donald S. Wood
