2016 MDA Clinical Conference — Overview

MDA fights to give individuals and the families who love them strength, independence and life to live longer and grow stronger. To help support our lifesaving mission, we care for kids and adults from day one. At MDA, we know early diagnosis, highly specialized care and access to promising clinical trials help ensure the best possible outcomes for individuals and families facing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related life-threatening diseases that limit muscle strength and mobility.

The 2016 MDA Clinical Conference will bring together nearly 450 neuromuscular disease clinicians, allied health professionals and scientific experts to help drive the best outcomes and optimize care for families in hometowns across America. The conference is set to focus on strategies and progress in providing care for children and adults living with muscle-debilitating diseases, and will include representation from the clinical and corporate drug development arenas.

Conference presentations and discussions will focus on the following areas:

  • Genetics
  • Respiratory and rehabilitation care
  • Models for effective multidisciplinary MDA Care Centers
  • The role of muscle ultrasound in the MDA Care Center
  • Clinical trials and drug development

Leading health professionals from across the country are expected to gather for this prestigious conference to share critical updates on the diagnosis and medical, rehabilitative and psychosocial management of neuromuscular disorders. The conference facilitates multiple opportunities for the exchange of ideas and dialogue on the latest developments in medical care for children and adults with neuromuscular diseases and promotes an effective multidisciplinary team approach with the goal of optimal patient care.
