Dear Robert,
Your words and deeds, as well as those of MDA family members around the country, have been a source of inspiration and hope since the terrible atrocities of September 11th. I have followed all the reports and correspondence that you have sent me. I'm not the least bit surprised at the incredible outpouring of condolences and support from MDA for the brave New York firefighters.
The losses of September 11th are personal losses. We have all been affected and we all need to respond in whatever way we know how. I have been painting the New York skyline for over twenty years and I can't imagine what it will be like the next time I sketch the city. However, I have created one last piece of art that pays tribute to the World Trade Center called "United We Stand." Museum Editions Ltd. will be publishing a limited edition serigraph of the print and together, along with Steve Miller Fine Art Press, we will be donating 100% of the profits to the relief effort. Following your lead, half of the total dollars we raise will be given to the New York Firefighters 9-11 Relief Fund.
Please extend my heartfelt condolences to Harold Schaitberger and to all of those in the MDA family who have sustained losses. My heart goes out to them all. Thank you for leading us, once again, down the road of compassion.
Kindest regards,
Charles Fazzino
