Wyeth Seeks People With Becker MD for MYO-029 Study

A trial of an experimental compound developed to treat muscular dystrophy is seeking additional participants with Becker MD.

Becker MD is a less severe variant of Duchenne MD and results from a partial deficiency of the muscle protein dystrophin.

MYO-029 was developed and is being tested by Wyeth Pharmaceuticals (www.wyeth.com) of Collegeville, Pa. It’s designed to block a natural protein called myostatin, which limits muscle growth.

For details of criteria for entry and locations for the trial throughout the United States, see www.clinicaltrials.gov and enter MYO-029 in the search box; or www.mda.org/research/ctrials.aspx and enter MYO-029 in the keyword box.
