SPACES OPEN IN DMD PENTOXIFYLLINE TRIAL
Researchers at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington say they have three vacancies open in a trial of the drug pentoxifylline in Duchenne muscular dystrophy for boys between 4 and 7 years old who have not taken corticosteroids.
The research group says the drug, which has Food and Drug Administration approval for other uses, may reduce inflammation and scar tissue formation.
The trial is likely to remain open through the end of February.
