NEUROSCIENCE CONFERENCE TO EXPLORE
ADVANCES IN NEUROMUSCULAR DISEASE
Watch this site for daily coverage of the 2001 SFN meeting.
Every November, about 30,000 scientists from around the world come together for a week-long conference in the United States, packing themselves like sardines into the largest meeting facility they can find -- just to talk shop.
This is the essence of the Society for Neuroscience meeting, where scientists convene to discuss the latest research on the brain, the nervous system, and a host of neurological and neuromuscular diseases.
This year's SFN meeting will take place Nov. 10-15 in San Diego and will boast more than 15,000 presentations on subjects ranging from insect locomotion to human learning and memory. News about gene therapy for the muscular dystrophies and stem cell therapy and drug treatments for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis are among the neuromuscular disease advances expected to be announced.
MDA will be there to scan for breaking news about neuromuscular disease research, and post it here in the "What's New" section of the MDA Web site throughout the week. |
