MDA Issues New PSAs
MDA has issued a new PSA campaign for 2004.
MDA sends PSAs (public service advertisements) to hundreds of newspapers,
magazines and business journals across the country each year, and
receives thousands of free placements. Last year, MDA ads ran in the
Houston Chronicle, Better Homes & Gardens, People and other large
publications.
MDAs new campaigns were released in February and feature Goodwill
Ambassadors and others served by the Association.
A group of ads tagged "I dont have muscular dystrophy, but
Im one of Jerrys kids" aims to raise awareness that MDA is
fighting for treatments and cures for more than 40 neuromuscular diseases,
including the muscular dystrophies.
"In Dreams She Runs" portrays the determined attitude of
children with neuromuscular diseases.

MDA and CITGO Team Up Again for Boston Run
Scheduled for April 19, the 2004 Boston Marathon will again bring
together the CITGO/MDA Miracle Marathon Team.
With 60 people already signed up, the team hopes to surpass last
years $180,000 donation to MDA.
A leading corporate sponsor of MDA since 1986, CITGO Petroleum has
raised over $680,000 for MDA through the Marathon teams in the past
five years. President & CEO Luis Marin became an MDA national
vice president in December.
As the worlds oldest and most prestigious annual marathon, the Boston
Marathon is a 26.2-mile footrace that exempts runners who participate
in support of nonprofit organizations, such as MDA, from having to
meet the qualifying time.
