Nevada Businesswoman Elected MDA Treasurer
TUCSON, Ariz., Dec. 2, 2005 — Suzanne Lowden, an executive in
the gaming and resort industry in Nevada, was elected Treasurer of the
Muscular Dystrophy Association at the Dec. 2 meeting of its Board of
Directors. Lowden has served as a member of the MDA board since 1998,
having supported MDA previously in Las Vegas for many years.
A vice president of Las Vegas-based Archon Corp., Lowden previously
served four years in the Nevada Senate, including a turn as majority
whip. Her involvement with MDA began in 1978 when, as anchorwoman and
reporter for KLAS-TV in Las Vegas for a decade, she became host of the
local MDA Telethon.
Lowden is married to Paul W. Lowden, president of Archon Corp. and
an MDA vice president.
”Sue Lowden brings energy, intelligence, compassion and commitment
to any project she undertakes,” said Robert Ross, MDA president
& CEO. “We feel privileged to have her leadership on the MDA
Board.”
MDA is a voluntary health agency working to defeat more than 40 neuromuscular
diseases through programs of worldwide research,
comprehensive services, and far-reaching professional and public health
education. The Association's programs are funded almost entirely by
individual private contributors.
