- When my mom told me about Ed's passing, I couldn't help but think of Jerry Lewis. Whoever Jerry gets to replace him on this year's telethon has pretty big shoes to fill. It will not be the same without him to introduce people like the fire fighters (which I am partial too, because my dad is a retired fire fighter from West Haven, Connecticut). Thank you Ed for your many years on The Tonight Show and The MDA Telethon.

- My prayers go out to Ed McMahon's family and Jerry Lewis. Ed made us laugh on the Telethon; what are we going to do without him? I will continue to watch the Telethon know matter what because I like you both. God Bless All of you.
Kathleen McMinnville
- Hi from me! I work the Telethon. I started with the MDA Telethon back in 1972 and when we watched the show we could see and hear Ed. When we do the show this year it will be for Ed and all the time he was with us. I saw God's love in you Mr. Ed McMahon. We will do it for you and all of Jerry's Kids.
David S. Barrett
- How hard it will be for Jerry Lewis and followers to go on with '09 Telethon for MD. Ed McMahon always seemed to be a strength for others and "genuine." The Lord has found a wonderful place for him, I'm sure ... still, he will be missed.
Arlene Dalton
- Ed will truly be missed this year on the Telethon as he always knew when to call for the famous drumroll to update the tote board. He was a true gentleman & a great star. Heaven is a bit brighter now & we are a bit sadder now that he is gone but not forgotten.
Anthony Corbo
- Entertainment has come a long way since then; we had millions of celebrities young and old and we lost three of them: Jackson, Fawcett and beloved and favorite of all, McMahon. From classic to contemporary, he's done it all.
Jim Palmer
- I wish Ed McMahon was still here. He was the man behind Jerry Lewis. It's going to be less fun without him.
Corey Williams
- I've enjoyed watching Ed McMahon for many years on the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon, as well as on Star Search, and the Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. Although he's gone, his memories will last a lifetime. I'll always remember him.
Philip Richards
- Ed McMahon will be missed by many people. I cried when I heard the sad news about Ed. Seeing Ed smile and laugh made the telethon; Ed digging on Jerry time to time in fun. This year seeing that empty chair is going to be hard. Ed And Jerry ARE my heros. R.I.P. Mr. Ed McMahon.
Roger Thacker
- I will miss Ed for his laughter and warmth. Jerry and Ed were like salt and pepper. I hope Jerry will spend a little time celebrating Ed's contribution to MDA. Let us all give a little extra this year to salute Ed. He will watch the tote board from above.
Stephen Sandberg
- What good are words about Ed McMahon? I saw him on Sealtest Dairy's Big Top on CBS, Macy's Parades on Thanksgiving on NBC and Who Do You Trust? on ABC, sponsored by Lever Products (now Unilever). When he talked about MDA's sponsors, like Citgo, 7-11 or Colgate-Palmolive, he was a great co-host. I'll miss him.
