  • It's going to be difficult not hearing Mr.McMahon's commentary and not seeing him on stage. He was a part of a Labor Day tradition. He and Jerry were to Labor Day what Santa Claus is to Christmas.

  • I had the honor of interviewing Ed on my radio show several times and he was a class gentleman. We'll miss him on the Telethon.

  • I would like to express my sincere sympathy at the passing of a legend like Mr. McMahon. He will be sorely missed. That being said I would like to pay a living tribute to a living legend named Jerry Lewis. I have been a true fan and admirer for as long as I can remember. When I saw Mr. Lewis in Damn Yankees on Broadway it was truly a dream come true. I always dreamed of someday meeting Mr. Lewis and shaking his hand and perhaps giving him a kiss on the cheek to show my sincere gratitude for a lifetime of laughter, and moreover a lifetime of generosity that words cannot describe. To say I admire Mr. Lewis would be an understatement. In my eyes he will be forever young. I wish the MDA telethon good fortune this year and hopefully NOT too many more years to come because the need will be no more.

  • Dear Jerry Lewis,

Ed was a wonderful co-host for the telethon for many years. He will be greatly missed on your show. I hope that you have a new co-host for this year's telethon. You have done a lot of good work for your kids over the years Jerry, and we have made a pledge to your kids as well. Good Luck!

  • I agree with Jerry, Mr. McMahon has been a staple for this program my whole life. It is going to be very difficult to not have him on from now on, but on the other hand, now Ed is a powerful voice in heaven to GOD to ask him FINALLY for a cure to all MDA diseases!!!!! Thank you Mr. McMahon for all years of service. Your love will continue on ... and GOD BLESS his family.

  • Jerry,

As you know Ed McMahon's early TV days started here in Philly on WCAU-TV Ch 10, which was a CBS affiliate. Nowadays it's NBC10 and the telethon will be back on MYPHL17 again which carries NBC10 news at the ten o'clock hour. In a year where we've lost Michael Jackson, longtime Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas, Sen. Ted Kennedy, my own oldest brother Eddie Reilly (FDNY RET and his Bday was 9/5) and just nine months prior my older sister Christine Brown had died, etc., Ed McMahon was unique, there will never be another great announcer/co-host like him. Over the years watching you and him working long hours live, you and Ed were diehards for the cause and in many ways like brothers. Jerry since your early days with Dean which we know was not an easy partnership at times, this teaming of you and Ed McMahon for close to 40 years was and will always be remembered as the best team in showbiz. Mr Lewis, I send my belated condolences to Ed McMahon's family and to your MDA family on this loss. Please hang in there sir and keep up the nonstop help for your "kids." God bless Ed McMahon, God bless you, thank you for reading this.
