Tributes from Friends of Ed McMahon
  • Ed:

You were a great joy to me and several million other people who got to share in your laughter. You were a credit to your profession and there will be a big hole in the next Telethon, but you will be remembered always. God Bless

  • Mr. McMahon was on of the best television hosts I can remember growing up. Especially watching the talent show star search. I loved the way he made each and every person feel, even though they may have lost. He always encouraged the contestants to go on and never made them feel like a loser. His generocity to others is something I will always remember about him. Along with that striking smile. Thank you Mr. McMahon for sharing your spirit with us.

  • My prayers are with the MDA family and Ed's family. I thouroughly enjoyed Ed's love for MDA and his love and humor for people. What a great guy. I enjoyed his bantering with Johnny Carson. Thank you Ed for the memories. A tipany for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dear God, The MDA family would like to thank you for allowing Mr. Ed McMahon to be a part of our lives. He was the kindest, most sincere person you could have sent to Earth to help everyone associated with this organization. How will we go on this year without him? Maybe the knowledge that he is now entertaining all of those we have lost through the years will bring a smile to our hearts. Thank you Mr. McMahon. Your service will never be forgotten.

  • The greatest gift in the world is love. This is what Ed had with all of us. In the spirit of giving, sharing, and entertaining we enjoyed and loved all that he had to share. We learn to "walk that same precious road" in our quest to fight neuromuscular disease. Mahalo nui loa to MDA and to all those connected with this organization. IMUA (move forward) in our QUEST for a cure.

  • Because of the MDA Telethon, I knew who Ed was before I stayed up to watch The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. We have lost a very dear man and an important part of MDA. God Bless You!

  • I'm sorry to hear about the loss of Mr. McMahon. My son just passed away in February from Duchenne. He was only 22. He loved Eddie as he called him. His dream was to meet Eddie and Jerry. Well he never got a chance to meet either one of you on earth but now Eddie he can shake your hand and at least I know he had one of his dreams accomplished and that makes me smile. Rest in peace, you are a wonderful man.
