Omar created this artwork at age 10 in July 1997 at an MDA-sponsored children’s summer camp.  His favorite hobbies were swimming, fishing and painting.

Saguaros and Owl


Matt created this painting at age 10 at an MDA-sponsored children's art workshop held at the Arizona State University Art Building in Tempe, Arizona.  He was active in scouting.

Race to the Summit


Petr created this artwork at age 14 at an MDA summer camp held at Camp Florian in Canton, Mass.  He studied English and creative writing at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

Pyramids in Outer Space

GrahaMGraduated from New Rochelle High School.  He used acrylic, oil, pen and ink in his artwork which has been exhibited in an art gallery in Princeton, New Jersey.  Graham also was commissioned for private and commercial work including an advertisement for the Henry Viscardi School.

Prince of the Desert

James began creating computer art several years ago using the Fractal Design Painter programs, Corel Draw, and Photoshop.  He studied design at Sacred Heart University, Fairfield University and the Creative Art Workshop.  His work appeared in the “National Association of Desktop Publishers Journal” and “Computer Graphics World” magazine.

Purple Truck

Gerardo graduated from Sharpstown High School.  He began drawing several years ago and usually worked on two pictures at a time.  Gerardo’s hobbies included drawing, listening to music and perfecting his Spanish skills.

Old Truck on a Fall Day


Conor has been drawing for many years and recently began painting with oils.  His work has been shown in a school art show.  His favorite school subject is science, and he plays wheelchair sports.

Mosaic Hummingbird


Craig designed logos and program covers for his local MDA chapter, high school and other community groups, and his artwork has been in several local venues.  He also published a book called Craig’s Travel Adventures.


Jared created this artwork at age 12 at an MDA-sponsored children’s art workshop held at the Detroit Institute of Art.  He received the Presidential Academic Fitness Award signed by President Clinton in June 1994.

Jerry Lewis


John created this artwork at age 17 while attending Paradise High School, where he served as art editor for the school's literary magazine.  He served as the MDA California State Goodwill Ambassador in 1985.  Besides drawing by hand for many years, John also created computer artwork and won numerous blue ribbons at county and state fairs.
