Not alot about ramps. My friend that has MS, her husband got a van, but he had a lift put on it so she could just roll her wheel chair onto the ramp then, lift her into the van. He then locks her chair into position in the passenger spot.

I think he paid about $35,000 for the van, which he had them equip with the lift and the tie downs.

This minivan has been alot of stress and fighting for us. My parents don't realize that dropping the floor of the van is $18000-20000. They think that we can just put a ramp in it with no modifications. Then the seat that comes out and down is $6,000 and they've already said they won't pay that much. So I don't know.

Well, not my insurance. medicare and medicaid doesn't. and my private insurance stopped paying for any durable medical equipment last year.

no you have to get a script from the doctor saying that the modifcations are necessary. but that doesn't mean that insurance will pay for it. that's why i haven't had a modified vehicle in almost 9 years.

I am just getting to age for medicare and am just starting to learn about them. They do hospitaliztion, and then medical, but they say you better have a secondary to cover that which they do not.
