marg -- Not right now. Supposed to get an inch or so by morning. We have had unusually warm weather for the last week, after a month of colder and snowier than normal.

marg -- you are in your 30's arent you? Are you married? have children?
andy28g -- 33, not married no childen, do you have children marg?
marg -- Yes, two girls. They are older than you by more than 10 years. In fact the oldest iis 46 today!
marg -- And no, no grandchildren.
marg -- Do you have LGMD, andy?
andy28g -- well happy birthday to her,does she live close to you
marg -- Yes, about 7 miles. We celebrated last night, because the other daughter's birthday was Tuesday!
andy28g -- my mother and i have the same thing, she was dx with lgmd, i was dx with inclusion body myositis,and or opmd, waiting for a better dx, as the ibm doesn't fit any of my symptoms
marg -- She is 45! Boy, am I old! LOL
andy28g -- lol!
marg -- Your mother and you have all the same symptoms?
marg -- How old is your Mother, and how long ago was she dx'd?
andy28g -- yes, but they're not like the ibm, and ibm isn't hereditary, mom is 70'ish and showed symptoms in her mid 30's, dx about 10 years ago with lgmd, but had many different dx over 30 years
andy28g -- the ibm starts at the fingers and works its way back, we both started in the limb girdle and are working our way down

marg -- I am 64, was dx'd at 17 with "some type" of MD. 20 years later it was dx'd as SMA. Then 20 years after that they decided that it is LGMD. My sister who is 74 also has it whatever it is!

andy28g -- i find that the struggle for dx is more frustrating than losing all my muscles-lol

marg -- You got that right andy! After 5 biopsies and at 10 rounds of EMG's they still arent sure!

andy28g -- can i get a better dx with the dna testing, do you know?
tbird1155 -- I don't know andy I have not read about dma
marg -- Yes you can andy, you just gotta find a study or get in on a trial to get it done it seems.

andy28g -- i've only had biopsies and they have been pretty vague

marg -- My sis and I were supposed to get further testing to find out what type of LGMD 4 years ago, but before we could get there the funding for the study was lost. We are still waiting for it to get back up and running. In the meantime, sis has heart problems that may kill her before we find out.

marg -- In a couple weeks I will likely have an elcetric wheel chair for sale. It is a Hoveround. DH is fixing it up.
marg -- Sounds like a nice car andy. Do you need any assistive devices to drive?
tbird1155 -- I know I can sale this one for about 8 to 10 thousand but I don't like to cheat people I know how hard it is to find thing cheap and being on SSI little money

andy28g -- not at the moment,i found getting in was hard, but i'm going to look at having it lowered, just depends how much the transmission is going to cost
marg -- WE handicapped people are a captive audiance. We need some things no matter what it costs, so we get goughed all the time.
