MDA Fly Out 2010 ~ Success in Every State ~ |
Building on the success of last year's inaugural Fly Out, teams across the country are preparing to reach out to congressional members during MDA's 2010 Fly Out. Through these meetings, the needs of our community will be voiced and relationships between constituents and their members of Congress will be strengthened.
While many special interest groups sponsor events known as “Fly-Ins,” in which members of their organizations head to Washington and meet with their elected representatives on Capitol Hill, MDA's annual “Fly Out” program is an extremely effective alternative.

| Meet Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS) |

Senator Roger Wicker |
Our neuromuscular community commends Sen. Wicker for his extraordinary accomplishments on behalf of people with neuromuscular disease and recognizes him as an MDA Champion.
Born in Pontotoc, Miss., Sen. Wicker was educated in the local public school system. He received his B.A. and law degrees from the University of Mississippi and was elected to the United States Senate on November 4, 2008. Sen. Wicker had served in the Senate for ten months before his election, having been appointed by Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour on December 31, 2007.
